The Fastest Chocolate Chip Cookie S’mores Recipe Ever

By Carrie Walco-Bowman

If you haven’t experienced the decadently delicious taste of chocolate chip cookie s’mores right off the bonfire, it’s about darned time! This recipe is one of the easiest and fastest ways to make s’mores – of any kind – on your very own personal and portable s’mores maker. And, you can make them quickly on a real fire without spending the time and expense building a traditional bonfire with wood and lots of patience.

To make these cookie s’mores the fastest way possible, pick up a pack of your favorite chocolate chip cookies, or ask a friend to bring over some of their famous homemade chocolate chip cookies. Of course, you can make them yourself if you like. However, we recommend making them ahead to ensure you have a stress-free s’mores night around your mini fire pit with friends and family. If you want to skip the homemade cookie recipe, pick up one or two refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough packages from your local grocery store. Another bonus to refrigerated cookie dough is that you only have to make as many as you want or need and can save the rest in the fridge for later.

Who’s ready to combine America’s Favorite Cookie with America’s Favorite Campfire Snack for National S’mores Day (on August 10th every year)?!

Did you know? Americans love chocolate chip cookies so much that they were even named the official state cookie of Massachusetts.

“The CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE was designated the official cookie of the Commonwealth on July 9, 1997. A third-grade class from Somerset proposed the bill to honor the cookie invented in 1930 at the Toll House Restaurant in Whitman.” – MASSACHUSETTS FACTS

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE S’MORES RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

- 8 Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 City Bonfires Night Pack
1 City Bonfire Portable Fire Pit
        4 Large Marshmallows
        2 Reusable Skewers

        1 EZ Lighter

        SAVE THESE FOR ANOTHER TIME:
1 Chocolate Bar OR Chocolate Fudge Sauce (you get to choose!)
        8 Graham Crackers

INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: If you are using homemade chocolate chip cookies or making them from premade refrigerated cookie dough, make them ahead of time.

  1. Gather all your s’mores roasting supplies and lay out your ingredients so they are easy to reach. Our City Bonfires Night Pack includes everything you need: a portable mini firepit, marshmallows, roasting sticks, and graham crackers and chocolate (bar or sauce) – you can save these for when you reuse your City Bonfires another time.
  1. Then, read all of the instructions and safety warnings included in your City Bonfires campfire in a can. Light it according to the directions.
  1. Roast your marshmallow with your skewers as much or as little as you like. (Yes! Some people do love burned marshmallows!)
  1. When done, put your roasted marshmallow between two chocolate chip cookies and enjoy! Feel free to add a chocolate bar, sauce, or Nutella® if you are a chocolate lover like us.
