Mini Fire Pit Brand City Bonfires Launches into Tractor Supply

Rural lifestyle retailer debuts City Bonfires in 393 stores this spring.

WASHINGTON, D.C., February 28, 2023-- City Bonfires, the Rockville, Maryland mini fire pit brand, invented by two dads during the pandemic, is launching into 393 Tractor Supply stores this spring. This marks the brand's first entrance into a large, national physical retailer.

"We are thrilled to introduce City Bonfires to the Tractor Supply consumer base across the country,” said Chris McCasland, co-founder of City Bonfires. “Tractor Supply stores provide a one-stop shop for the community and we feel the chain’s commitment to supporting American-made products is a perfect match for our handmade fire pit.”

City Bonfires focuses on providing a product that is not only made in the USA, but is nontoxic and food safe. People Magazine called City Bonfires a “Game-changing product! For small outdoor spaces, camping or hitting the beach we love this portable, pocket-size, 4-inch unit that lets you take flames on the go.” The company, founded by two Maryland dads, Chris McCasland and Michael Opalski after they both lost their jobs due to the pandemic, is now in more than 500 retail locations nationwide, including grocery stores, boutiques, hardware stores, resorts, restaurants, breweries, wineries, bed and breakfasts, and even bait and tackle shops.

“Our multi-purpose product can be used for gifts, s’mores, hiking, camping, beach trips, date nights, BBQs, small outdoor spaces, emergency kits, and more,” states City Bonfires co-founder Michael Opalski.

City Bonfires’ latest expansion adds to its products available at other retailers such as select Ace Hardware stores, Amazon, Academy Sports, the Home Depot, Diebergs Markets and other retailers across the U.S. and Canada. Although the company has been expanding its wholesale presence, McCasland noted it has seen success with its DTC channel in the midst of economic pressures.
